MAX is for cases like "the worst ping-rtts we experienced that time", (as far as I understand :), MIN is the opposite ("the lowest 'free diskspace'" e.g.) btw: your min/max-values should be readjusted. min is _at least_ 0; but _if_ you are measuring 0, your mail-system broke down (I guess you are talking about a server which usually get's more than a few dozen mails per hour), so maybe you should set min to some number greater 0. Also, you could probably give some really high number for max, like 100000, just to make sure to get UNKNOWN if you're calculations are completely off... :) hth, -- +------------------------------------------------------------------* .-. | Martin Schuster Microsoft is not the answer /v\ | www.tabr.org Microsoft is the question // \\ | ICQ# 20511117 "Linux!" is the answer /( )\ +--------------------------------------------------------------* ^^-^^ -- Attached file removed by Ecartis and put at URL below -- -- Type: application/pgp-signature -- Desc: Digital signature -- Size: 190 bytes -- URL : http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/p/4243180E12470-signature.asc -- Unsubscribe mailto:rrd-users-request@list.ee.ethz.ch?subject=unsubscribe Help mailto:rrd-users-request@list.ee.ethz.ch?subject=help Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/rrd-users WebAdmin http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi
