Smokepingers,
I am running 1.16 on Solaris and said application has been running very
well. I have email notification working well and I'm very happy with it
so far. I need to go to the next level and call an external script.
How do I call a script when an alert is raised. I searched the
documentation and archives, and found no examples. Looking at
Smokeping.pm in the notification code I see:
if ($cfg->{Alerts}{to} =~ /^\|(.+)/) {
which triggers a system call to an external script. Here is my
question, how does this get set? For example if I had a script
/var/tmp/foo.pl what do I need to do, I can't get it to work. I'm sorry
for the simple question, but I am stumped.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jim
