[smokeping-users] speedy zombies?

Smokeping is running just fine, however, I notice that after a couple of
days, I have a zombie or two of speedy cgi.  If I do apachectl graceful,
they drop.

I'm guessing it's because apache is reducing servers to the MaxSpareServer
setting, but leaving that speedy process hanging.

Has anyone else noticed this, if so, how was it resolved?

This is with Apache 1.3.28 with FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE p3.
