[smokeping-users] Alert Wierdness...Unknown (rtt) vs loss

I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgable in the ways of configuring
smokeping to make it do what I want to do.  As an example, I want to
know when port 5517 on a given host is down as it's providing a
server service to quite a few people. Since it's viewable by http,
echoping was my probe of choice.

With that said, here's my alerts section:

comment = port 5517 is not responding (10 minutes), this is an
advisory.

As you can see, I'm using packet loss to determine whether the port
is down (not the host, that's covered separately and is working
fine).  If I change the alert type to "rtt" and use the !=U and ==U
elements, the alerting does not work.

I don't know why this is, as to me it should work just fine.

What was I doing wrong by using the !=U and ==U?
