Hi,

one thing to try would be to run several smokepings from cron with each
having just one probe to run.

You'd have to use different configs for each probe - the 2.0 branch
supports a '--config=X' option.

A 'soft-restart' option would indeed be nice. I'll probably look at
implementing something like that after we get 2.0 out.
