Hi Ged,
note that the data gets normalized on the time axis. What you see
in the graph are not the actual pings, but the result of the
normalization. So especially since this loss situyation seems to be
very local, it is to be expected that the neighbouring pings will
leak into the loss 'periode'.
use rrdtool dump to see what is actually stored in the rrd file.
