Err, yes you appear to be right - at least it is now (the only thing I
think I changed was to deleted all the RRDs and let it start collecting
again).  The behaviour I saw before was that as soon as I configured a
slave as well, the master stopped collecting data itself.  Hmm, not a
very auspicious first post.  Sorry for the noise...
