[smokeping-users] File paths not seeing what it is I'm doing wrong.

I don't know. It certainly appears as though smokeping isn't running, so that would explain why you don't have any data.

My guess: Either the config isn't being loaded because SP can't open it, or there's a rights issue opening it. [SELinux perhaps.]

The dig from here should be fairly straight-forward and will most likely just mean you keep looking at the error messages and trying things until you get it working.
[For example, a very simple config file, changing perms on the config file...]

Just tried to get debug running on Smokeping and I’m getting back the following.

ERROR: loading smokeping configuration file /usr/sbin/../etc/config: No such file or directory

I installed using apt-get should I can the install and re-install from scratch?

See:

In short, you either have a problem with the RRD files getting written, or your web-server/cgi reading the RRD's.

You need to actually do some looking to figure out what's up. Running SP in debug mode should help you determine if you can write to the RRD's. Apache logs will get you some data about reading the RRD files.

There's just not much else to go wrong that I've ever seen.

Master/slave mode makes things a bit more complicated, since the slaves are *writing* to the RRD's via the webserver - but the principles still apply.

No that’s not it SELinux isn’t even installed on this box.

I had a similar issue with permission errors in the Apache logs and it turned out to be SELinux.

Just installed a fresh instance of Smokeping and none of my images are loading for some reason. The files are there when I download them to my desktop machine I can open it up and view it. Here is a copy and paste from my pathnames file.

sendmail = /usr/sbin/sendmail
imgcache = /var/cache/smokeping/images
imgurl   = ../smokeping/images
datadir  = /var/lib/smokeping
piddir  = /var/run/smokeping
smokemail = /etc/smokeping/smokemail
tmail = /etc/smokeping/tmail

I’ve tried editing imgurl to be the full path of /var/cache/smokeping/images and restarted both Apache and Smokeping to no avail. I’m not out of disk space either. Any ideas of what it is I’m doing wrong are appreciated.
