[smokeping-users] problem with "warning I don't know the slave" message

Hi Smokeping-users

I'm trying to configure smokeping to keep a closer eye on our network, I've
got an instance up and running in a test environment but I can't figure out
how to get past receiving

WARNING: I don't know the slave test01 ignoring it

ERROR: we did not get config from the master. Maybe we are not configured
> as a slave for any of the targets on the master ?


I've been watching the log file for both smokeping and apache but the only
entry is the apache access log

192.168.10.145 - - [22/Nov/2016:16:12:31 +0000] "POST /smokeping/ HTTP/1.1"

Slaves section of the config

> *** Slaves ***
> secrets=/opt/smokeping/etc/smokeping_secrets.dist

then I've got slaves = test01 under the Targets section. Interestingly if I
change the hostname either in the config for the client then I get an error
about having no secret. I've been starting smokeping on the slave with the
following command, iptables is disabled as is selinux so I'm not sure
what's causing the issue.

[root at craig-test01 ~]# /opt/smokeping/bin/smokeping --master-url=
> http://192.168.10.133/smokeping/ --cache-dir=/opt/smokeping/cache
> --shared-secret=/opt/smokeping/var/secret.txt --debug --slave-name=test01
>

Can anybody point me in the direction of what this issue is?
