[smokeping-users] apt-get install smokeping not working

Apparently this is a common problem.  If one Googles the error there are many hits indicating other are having the same problem.

That looks like an issue with your package manager. While the command lines you pasted look correct, the error messages look like other comamnd lines were actually entered.

Please cut and paste directly from your shell. You might get better response on a support medium specific to your distribution, your issue happened well before the first line of smokeping code arrived on your system.
