Yes - I have the latest Debian release (9.9), and have full apt updates & upgrades.

Yes; 2.6.11 is their most recent release, and I've been running on their ported releases all along.

Yes; RRd's are getting updated. I checked the file timestamps, and also the system logs show the updates, and I ran smokeping with a -debug flag and it showed the updates. (below)

Thanks for the FAQ reference. All of my permissions and ownerships seem correct.

Checking the Apache issue it notes; I get this:

I've seen several different versions of this setup, (https://github.com/chicks-net/smokeping-config/blob/master/apache2.conf, https://nsrc.org/workshops/2017/caren-cndo/networking/cndo/en/labs/smokeping_install.html ), and don't know how they compare, or which is correct! This may be where I have mishandled the setup??

I scanned your earlier messages, but didn't do more than a quick scan - thus it's possible I've missed something.

I'm assuming you're running a current debian version and are using a debian packaged smokeping. [2.6.11 *is* pretty old (late 2014), but I don't think that's the source of your problem - but it makes me wonder about how current your debian install is. Which, is again, unlikely to be the source of your issue - but it's something to consider for the longer term - security and OS updates...]

So, nothing changed that was a proximal cause of the problem? Like a debian upgrade? It just spontaneously broke?

How sure are you that the RRD's are updated? This is the first place I'd start looking.
Running in debug mode often helps.

smokeping --debug

Watch the output.

Enpty graphs is a common symptom of RRD's not getting the data - and that's usually a permissions issue. But the PNG's will get produced.
