[mrtg] Bits vs Bytes

Hi all,

	Sort of a dumb question, but I need to know: if I put in the Options[_]: 
bits.  Do I have to change all my MAX Speed and MaxBytes[_] to bits? or can I 
leave the line speeds in bytes?  And, while I'm at it, if I'm already 
monitoring these interfaces and I have old data from them, will my old data 
be off because of the change to bits?  I'm running HPUX 10.20 with MRTG-2.8.8.
