Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I don't have any problems running cfgmaker to build the *.cfg files, and do
in fact run them using the command syntax that you described.
However, the *.cfg files created by cfgmaker use SNMP IFs to query the
different interfaces. I would like to modify my *.cfg files so that they
interfaces are queried via their IP addresses, so that if I make changes to
my routers that result in changes to the IFs then MRTG does not start to
query the wrong interface.
The MRTG documentation refers to using the cfgmaker_phys program to confert
*.cfg files to user Physical Addresses (MACs I'm assuming), but I cannot
locate that problem in my download. I do have a program called cfgmaker_ip
which would seem to do what I want, but I cannot get it to run (perhaps just
because I'm not using it properly) on my system (Lunix v6.0).
I was asking if anybody had either information on those programs, or actual
*.cfg file snippets that I could use to base manual modifications of my
existing *.cfg files off of.

Hi,
I have been connecting to all my hosts via the IP Address using ./cfgmaker
using the example syntax './cfgmaker public at 127.0.0.1'
