This seems to be a bad block/track/whatever

This seems to be a driver problem (perhaps corrected/worked around).

Both errors aren't mrtg related.  MRTG asks a lot of the OS; however
any program doing a lot of IO might cause these errors.

You really want to ask the OS specific lists.
