[mrtg] root cron error

I have placed the following in my root cron 

0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * ./mrtg mrgt1.cfg
I keep getting this error 

ERROR: unable to open config file: 
Usage: mrtg <config-file>
mrtg: Multi Router Traffic Grapher.

If I type the command manually it works fine.

The cron job below is the suggested one.  I believe the problem is to do with
the <mrtg-bin>/mrtg  I don't know what these are.  Can someone give me some
insight. 

0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * \
<mrtg-bin>/mrtg <path to mrtg-cfg>/mrtg.cfg
