I assume you're using solaris2.  see /usr/ucblib/.

in general, you should avoid using ucb compatibility mode.
solaris2 is a systemV flavour OS.
remove /usr/ucb/ from your PATH,
remove /usr/ucblib/ from LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
