[mrtg] mrtg & squid faq

Hello out there,

is there a mrtg & squid faq for actual versions (mrtg 2.8.x, squid 2.2x)?
I think I have smtp running on squid, but I fail on setting up the
mrtg.conf.
Do I have to patch the mrtg script?

Maybe someone has an actual, running configuration he can show to me?
