The presumption of MRTG is that you are pointing it at an OID that gives its
data in octets (ie. bytes).  NO cell to byte/bit conversion is needed.  If
you use the bits option, MRTG takes the number it gets from the snmp poll
and multiplies it by 8.

Well, to be technical about it, any conversion would happen on the ATM
switch.  If it counts cells then it would have to do the math to so that the
ifInOctets and ifOutOctets OIDs gave you octets.

ATMMAKER is a cfgmaker-like script for making cfg files to count cells
transfered (you'd have to do the math on this one).  CFGMAKER-ATM pulls
stuff from the BayNetworks ATM MIB (or so says the readme).
