I just ran into the ~114Mb limit myself and need to move to RRDtool.
Question1 - is my existing MRTG data transferrable?
Question2 - what frontend is the front runner?

I have about 50 servers and 30 net links which are monitored...

Yup, you've overlooked the mail list archive. Please look back for
numerous discussions on this.

In short: switch to RRDtool so you won't get caught by 32 bit counters.
