[mrtg] Threshold Checking

Hello,
I'm interested in receiving more details about threshold configuration.
What I know is the use of 'ThreshDir', ThreshMinI, ThreshMaxI and so on.
I've tried to use a tool like sendtrap with an own syntax. How can I give
the
$router variable and the two threshold values to such a program. We tried
with a batch,
but it don't work like it should. Unfortunately I'm not experienced in Perl.
