Well, I had the same problem and found out the hard way that MRTG v. 2.8.8
will not allow you to run in less than 5-minute intervals.

I plan on using MRTG for monitoring the # FTP users on my public PPC
Linux mirror.  I'm wondering, just how often should I have MRTG run?
Right now its going every 5 minutes but I feel that its missing a lot
of the traffic that way.  Would it hurt to run every 2 minutes or
every minute?  Anyone have any opinions?
