It counts packets, not bytes. The number of packets is multiplied by
a constant factor. This factor is not correct when using large packets
and this is what is used during ftp sessions.
Read the archive, there are multiple answers to this problem.
Please, next time include details such as OS because, as you can see,
it sometimes makes a difference.
