You mean you get graphs with legends ... but empty elsewhere?

When did you graphs "ceased to have any data"? When you installed mrtg
2.9.0prexxx ? (what xxx?)

Next check you rrd files with "rrdtool dump <file>" if they contain
any data: Look at the end of the first rra (the lines above the first
"</rra>"): are the values all zero? or "NaN"?
