[mrtg] Invalid report

I'm using primarily cisco routers and occasionally I have to power cycle
the routers or I have to clear the coutners. The effect on MRTG is that
when it graphs bandwidth utilization it takes the current value (near to
0) and subtracts the previous value (usually a very high number)
resulting in a very high negative number. It then divides by the time
frame and strips the negative sign graphing a single spike of a very
high number. For example I have a 56K circuit with two peaks in the past
week that are in the 80Mb/s range. Does anyone have a suggestion for how
to combat this? Perhaps with RRD? Thanks in advance.
