I'm not so sure this would be such a great thing... I guess it would have
it's application somewhere, but if you've broken things up into multiple
config files, wouldn't that normally be because you want to run multiple
processes? Seeing that you can comment the config file, I don't see it
being a real advantage...
Now, if you could specify multiple configs (include lines or command line)
and mrtg would spawn a separate process for each, that would kick ass...
And perhaps even an option to stagger the starts of each config by a
specified time so they're not completely overlapping? ... Hrm.. I need to
learn perl...

Subject: [mrtg] Re: "include" in mrtg.cfg?
Today you sent me mail regarding [mrtg] "include" in mrtg.cfg?:
*>
*> Hey,
*>
*> Should there be a way to include other configuration files in a master
mrtg
*> configuration file?
*>
*> E.g. I have my cron to run /usr/local/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg.
*> mrtg.cfg contains some global commands, but then has statements like:
*> Include: /etc/mrtg/router1.cfg
*> Include: /etc/mrtg/router2.cfg
*>
*> That way I can easily add, remove, or temporarily disable monitoring of
*> routers without having to mangle with one large file.
*>
*> A possible scenario: I have a router with 10 interfaces that I monitor,
but
*> I'm doing maintenance on it for an hour. I don't want to stop mrtg from
*> running, but I also don't want it to have to timeout on 10 interfaces.
*> Also, I don't want to go in and comment out a bunch of lines in the
config.
good point will look into this ... would it help to be able to
specify multiple mrtg.cfg files on the commandline ?
cheers
