It won't work on the Catalyst line.  They are a different breed of cat.
I took a look through the stack mib (enterprises.cisco.management.workgroup)
and didn't see an entry that looked like CPU.

On a side note, CPU is pretty irrelevant on the 5500.  It is mainly used for
spanning tree and management functions (like telnet and snmp
configuration/monitoring).  All of the switching happens using real-time
chips in the EARL complex.  You may find looking at the sysTrafficMeterTable
to be of more use.  That tells you when the EARLs are getting too busy.
