I think I have found out the issue with the below,

whoever is monitoring NT/NetWare servers out there from MRTG running on Linux box. Could you please email me "/usr/lib/mib.txt"

snmpget relies on the definitions to be avail in this file, if they are not (most NT and some netware) these cant not be accessed.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am running MRTG v2.9.0pre22 on Redhat 6.2, and when I try and put the OID into the target field I get an error message of:
) in CFG file (nt_cpu.cfg) does not make sense.

I guess it has something to do with the MRTG not recognising the OID, I have copied new (NT perfmon.mib) mibs to the /usr/shared/snmp/mibs and del'ed the .index. Still no luck.

The cfg I am trying to use is as follows:
WorkDir: /home/httpd/html/mrtg/servername/html
IconDir: /images/
Title[^]: CPU #1 Usage (%) on System:
Target[servername]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.2.1.3&1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.2.1.4:public at 172.18.40.23
MaxBytes[servername]: 100
Title[servername]: servername
PageTop[servername]: <H2>CPU #1 Usage (%) on System: servername</H2>
Options[servername]: gauge, absolute, nopercent
Unscaled[servername]: dwmy
XSize[servername]: 380
YSize[servername]: 100
YLegend[servername]: CPU Usage (%)
ShortLegend[servername]: Percent
Legend1[servername]: CPU Usage (%)
Legend2[servername]: CPU Usage (%)

I am trying to monitor NT server CPU. I have tried putting a ".' at the front of each OIDs also, still no luck.
I have checked out the following two sites for NT info:
http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/mrtg.htm
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/9209/
http://www.queso.com/mrtgstatupdater.htm

I have carried out the NT Server res kit, SNMP service and patch up of the service also.

One thing I noticed though is that from console I can snmpwalk the IOD but I cant snmpget it. When I try to snmpget it, I get an error message of :
snmpget 172.18.40.23 public .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.2.1.4
Error in packet.
Reason: A general failure occured

Anyone have any ideas on how I can set this up ? Or any good sites discussing monitoring NT config files (from Linux MRTG servers though)

Thanks
