Hi Brian,

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but here is the guide
I use.


If the variable only  increases, of course it's a counter.  If the
variable goes up and down, then it's a gauge, and you need to specifiy
that in the MRTG config file (to prevent it from doing any math with the
returned value).  I'm not even sure what an opaque is, but I've never used
it for any MRTG config.
