[mrtg] SNMP Error: no response received

I'm getting a 'no response received' error when trying to make a config
file for an OmniSwitch. mrtg works for the OmniSwitch at the remote end
of my link, but not the one at the local end. I have checked to make
sure that snmp is enabled and the community name is correct.  Does
anyone have any other suggestions?
