after your message i just did the testing - same here:
2.9.4 and 2.8.12: all devices working fine
2.9.6: troubles on some devices

strange: i have two identical DSLrouters, same hardware, same software - one
is working, the otherone not...(with 2.9.4 both are working)?!?!

I've seen the same thing on mrtg running on a linux box.  The no response
received came from some squid proxies which work just fine on 2.9.4.  I've
posted a message previously in regards to it.

Hope someone's looking at it.
