[mrtg] Why doesn't it ever show 100mbps

Just curious,
I am running mrtg 2.8.11 on NT and monitoring a couple of 3900 switches
a lot of the workstations are running at 100mbps half duplex and the servers 
are hooked up at 100 mbps full duplex. 

the most I am seeing on any graph is  about 30 mbps

I have the options set to bits,withpeak  and maxbytes = 12500000.
any thoughts on this?
