[mrtg] backing up daily images

A while back someone mentioned that they rotated their daily images 
out to a seperate directory and renamed the file 
target-certain_date_format.gif.  Does someone have a script to do 
that on Linux?  I'd like to do that but I don't particularly want to 
reinvent the wheel.
