Out of curiosity, why are you multiplying 192 by 1024 to get bytes? On the
T1, you are dealing directly with the bits (1,536,000) and divide by 8 to
get 192,0000 bytes. A 'k' in bandwidth means 1000 not 1024. I think we can
all agree that 128Kb (ISDN) means 128,000 bits not 131,072 bits.

196,608 bytes is actually 1,572,864 bits.

You should not multiply by 1024. This is useful for things like memory and
harddrives, but not bandwidth....

Subject: [mrtg] conversions for MaxBytes

Could someone help me with converting speeds into MaxBytes? I'm
having a terrible time getting it straight in my head. For example,
a T1 = 24ch x 64kbits = 1536kbits / 8 = 192kbytes = 196608 bytes,
right? The config page says 193000 for a T1. I also have a seperate
16 channels of a T1 to figure, a few BRIs, DSL, and ethernet--10 &
100. Should I use my values or should I use whatever version of math
got the speeds on the config page?

TIA
   Justin
