To actually see 100mbps on the graph, you need to have a sustained
throughput on the port of 100 mbps for *at least* a full sampling
period.  Furthermore the boundaries of this interval must lay on
exact five-minute intervals (meaning: xx:00, xx:05, xx:10 and so on).

To get 100mbps during 5 minutes, you need to transfer the following:

100,000,000 / 8 * 300 bytes == 3,750,000,000 bytes.  (that's 3.5 GB)

Also, your server has to be capable of feeding this into the network.
Using older servers, the disk drive could be the bottle neck ...
