I use the following config when I only want to see one item graphed:

----- start config : cut here -----
Target[cpuload]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58.0:read-community-string at 100.100.
100.100
MaxBytes[cpuload]: 100
Options[cpuload]: nopercent, gauge
Title[cpuload]: myrouter : CPU Utilization
YLegend[cpuload]: CPU Utilization
ShortLegend[cpuload]: %
Legend1[cpuload]: % CPU Utilization
Legend3[cpuload]: Max % CPU Utilization
LegendI[cpuload]: :
LegendO[cpuload]:
Colours[cpuload]: GREEN#00cc00,GREEN#00cc00,DARK GREEN#006600,DARK
GREEN#006600
WithPeak[cpuload]:wmy
----- end config : cut here -----

Well, I've already tried that. It also has some drawbacks like getting two
identical text lines below each graph. Since I'm sure many people are
looking for this option I was wondering if there's some MRTG parameter to do
this more elegantly.

Target[rtr-cpu]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.56.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.56.0 :
public at 192.168.1.2

That should all be on one line.
