Do the same check a couple of times, i.e. check the first few lines of
your logfile. Compare the first line of each series. Calculate the
rate by hand.
Example:
1st: 951759461 158622809 184439887
2nd: 951759725 158632809 184459887
input rate from time 951759461 to 951759725 is
(158632809-158622809) / (951759725-951759461) = 37 bytes per second
ouput rate from time 951759461 to 951759725 is
(184459887-184439887) / (951759725-951759461) = 75 bytes per second
You should get different values each time MRTG has updated the log file.
If not: your counter is not incrementing.
If true: your counter is incrementing at a rate higher than MaxBytes
(or AbsMax).
