[mrtg] sending messages

Greetings All,

	This is not particular to MRTG but does anyone know of a messaging
app, similar to the UNIX "sendto" utility, that can send a message from NT
via a socket to a SMTP gateway, such as a paging service? My network
monitoring package requires an MS Exchange database. I would like to bypass
this.
