Jacob,

I wasn't able to fix or identify the problem per se, but I have been able to
work around it.
I downloaded a new copy of the MRTG-2.8.11 (dated 19-Jan-2000) and installed
it into \MRTG\MRTG-2.8.11
After creating a new config file and executing MRTG I didn't receive the
error anymore.

The version I am now using is found at... http://mrtg.hdl.com/pub/

I read a msg you submitted to the mrtg mailing list.  You were/are having
the exact same setup problem I am having (executing the perl script).  I
have just configured an NT SP5 system with an identical script and the
identical problem.

Did you ever find out what cause this problem?
