I asked Cisco what the difference between the sh int value and the snmp
value some time ago, and here was their response:

- sh int value : the value of the variable since clear counter is issued
(shadow counter)
- snmp value : the value from when the box got reloaded, i.e the value of
the variable.

I have a Cisco 25XX router whre I want to monitor in/out errors, I
issued a clear counters commadn frothe interface, but MRTG still gets
teh old cumulative value, can I restart that SNMP counter?  thanks,
