I have ran into this problem with some 12.0 versions of the ios also, the
problem isn't the router and those description changes you mentioned but it
is accually the mib files that changed in recent revisions. if you want to
run cfgmaker on it, you need to setup the router to have a view of
defaultv1.

Dear Colleagues,

I just downloaded MRTG 2.8.12 and ran cfgmaker
on a Cisco running IOS 12.1.1T.

All Ethernet-, Serial and Subinterfaces (E1 Multichannel)
look really good except of the BRI-Interfaces.

In the router is a 8-port BRI Interface. The strange thing is,
that the Max Speed isn't "8000 Bytes/s (PropPointtopoint)" anymore
but "8000 Bytes/s (AT&T DS0 Point (64 Kbps))".

The Interface-Name (B-Channels) is not e.g. "BRI2/7:1"
anymore but has something appended: "BRI2/7:1-Bearer Channel".

When MRTG runs with this config, we see the following
SNMP-Errors on STDERR:

SNMP Error:
Received SNMP response with error code
  error status: noSuchName
  index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.102)

                    timeout: 2s
                    retries: 5
                    backoff: 1)
SNMPGET Problem for ifInOctets.102 ifOutOctets.102 sysUptime sysName

SNMPGET: Failed to reach target: "102:secret at xxx.xx.x.xx". I tried multiple

Anyone?

Thanks!
Sascha
