[mrtg] Performance data doesn't seem "right" to me...

The performance data gathered by MRTG just doesn't seem to be right. And I'm
trying to figure out how to calculate the numbers to see if they are
correct.

I've got 2 questions:

#1: what is the formula that MRTG uses to compute bandwidth utilization?

#2: Is anyone monitoring Cabletron SmartSwitch 6000's and Cabletron
SmartSwitch 9000's with MRTG?
