It wouldn't be impossible to do this if you are very determined.  IMHO
it is better to use rrdtool for this, it is more flexible and you need
to study either MRTG or RRDtool...

In both cases you need to insert your data at a certain point in time,
this is something that is easy to do with RRDtool and it is not so easy
to do using rateup (MRTG).
