[mrtg] External ping program

Hi,

I have made a perl script that gets the min, average and max values of ping and I want to make the graph of this using mrtg. How do
I specify external programs in the .cfg file and what should be the output from the ping script. As  someone pointed that it should
be integer.

What would be the format of the .cfg file to feed to mrtg. ?
