Hi,
forgot something which could rise the same error message...
from nt-guide.html ( ....\mrtg-x.y.z\doc\nt-guide.html)
<snip>
Now, this step is VERY important! Open the file c:\mrtg-2.8.12\mrtg in your
favorite word processor, I suggest MSWord because Word will format the
document so it is readable. Once this file is open you need to change lines
4 and 5 from:
$main::OS = 'UNIX';
#$main::OS = 'NT';
to
#$main::OS = 'UNIX';
$main::OS = 'NT';
This is the only editing you need to do to the actual mrtg file. This simply
tells MRTG that your OS is NT. I can not emphasize enough that this need to
be done and the file needs to be saved as mrtg, overwriting the distribution
copy.
</snip>
did you edit the mrtg-file like mentioned above?
bye,
Joerg Helmert

Subject: [mrtg] Re: cannot find executable error
Hi,
from a mail, I posted at 17.05.2000:
<snip>
Hi,
other way would be to include the full path:
perl c:\mrtg\run\cfgmaker public at xxxx > file.cfg
To start mrtg you have to include the path:
perl c:\mrtg\run\mrtg c:\mrtg\config\file.cfg
otherwise you'll get:
ERROR: Can't find location of mrtg executable
This is because mrtg calculates the path to rateup
out of the call you used to start mrtg.
If you start without path, it will not be able to find
its binaries (rateup.exe and .pm's).
At least under WinNT ;-)

Subject: [mrtg] cannot find executable error
When I try to run MRTG I get the following error:
ERROR: Can't find location of mrtg executable
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at mrtg line 57.
I tried adding the path to MRTG in my path and I tried running it both with
and without 'perl' in front of it...I'm not sure what the problem is.
