[mrtg] bandwitdh

Hi everyone.

I have recently installed mrtg and have a question.
The cfg file i ve got after running cfgmaker against a Cisco router 3620 shows maxbytes 32000 bytes / sec.

All wanlinks we have is 128k,, 
Does the snmp request only get one time space or what ?

Is it that simple that i only change to 128000 on maxbytes ?
