[mrtg] Memo: RE: How do I stop/start MRTG in Daemon mode?

Thanks for that. However, I already run MRTG from an NT Service
using the sugested "Miroslaw M. Maczkas mrtg NT service package. You
can find it in c:\mrtg-2.9.4\contrib\nt-services " - but the problem
is not that I cannot stop the service (stopping the service does not
stop the MRTG Daemon) - the problem is how to stop the Daemon which is
created by the "RunAsDaemon: yes" parameter in the mrtg.cfg file.
Once MRTG loads as a Daemon it never again reads the mrtg.cfg file -
and if changes are made to mrtg.cfg they will not be read until MRTG
is restarted - but as it is a Daemon it means the machine has to be
restarted (at least until we can find out if the Daemon runs as an NT
Task (I did find 5mrtg.exe running in Task Manager)).
I read the documentation for Firedaemon and it also suggests setting
the "RunAsDaemon: yes" parameter which will put me back in the same
place :-) It is the Daemon process that is the problem - how to
bounce it!

Try to use the firedeamon software that allows you to run your MRTG as
a
service. You can find the details from the MRTG running under NT. The
installation is very simple and selfexplanotary.

I have installed MRTG for NT and am running it in Daemon mode
(RunAsDaemon = Yes). My question is how do I make it re-read the
configuration file after making changes without rebooting the PC? I
have RTFM'd but no information is found.
Has anyone else (using NT) found a solution to this problem?
