[mrtg] graphing explicit OIDs

This is probably nothing new but anyway...

I'm trying to graph a cisco's interface ifInErrors 
( the type of router is definitely NOT the issue here)

so:
Target[ni]: ifInErrors.19:public at router   OR
Target[ni]: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14.19:public at router  OR EVEN
Target[ni]: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14/1.2.3.4 (where 1.2.3.4 is the IP of the interface)

all these should work, right? well, why dont they? :)
I get a "error status: noSuchName" error...
any suggestions will be appreciated
