[mrtg] Log Files and Graph

Dear All,

I'm new with MRTG, and i wish to check out 
something regarding Log files and graph.

After i configure the MRTG, everything running fine
i do understand what does it mean at each line at the log file
but, my question is

1) How can i match the data in the log file with the graph ? 
   How can i match the index in the log with the % in graph ?
 
2) How do the caulculation being done , 
  i need to draw out the graph in Excel with the log file ? 
  ( i do know how to convert the unix time stamp)
