I have tried the below on my Cisco router but I get the following error:
Unknown SNMP var IfInUcastPkts.2
Unknown SNMP var IfOutUcastPkts.2
Here's my cfg file:
Target[2610pkts]: IfInUcastPkts.2&IfOutUcastPkts.2:community at host
MaxBytes[2610pkts]: 16000
Title[2610pkts]: Cisco 2610 Serial 0/0 Pkts/sec
PageTop[2610pkts]: <H1>Packets Per Second In/Out Serial 0/0 </H1>
Options[2610pkts] : growright
I'm also interested in working out how many packets get handled through the
router.
Is it also possible to work out packet per second throgh a 3COM Linkswitch
1000?
Regards
Craig

Subject: [mrtg] Monitoring Cisco 2621 for packets (not bytes)
I'm trying to monitor a Cisco 2621 to determine its overall packet rate, ie,
how many packets get handled accross all interfaces. I can do this easily
enough for the packets on any single interface, but I'd like to be able to
sum ALL interfaces for a graph which has the total of all of them.
However, mrtg kind of barfs on my syntax when I attempt to provide it a
summing target. Either my syntax is wrong it doesn't like a 400 character
Target line.
I'm doing Target[foo]: IfInUcastPkts.1:community at router +
IfInNUcastPkts.1:community at router + ...
Am I missing something or is there a better OID that provides this
information?
