sounds like you may be having a performance.... most of the stuff has been
addressed.... total collisions mean nothing.... but when it is a percentage
of total packets sent, then it becomes relavent. i think what would make a
valid/interesting graph is the percentage of collisions to packets... so one
could see that the collision packets to total packets was 1 to 2 percent...
very clean good numbers.. if the number got around 10%, then there is a
problem... you may need to do a perl script to get the right numbers...
maybe something someone out there has done?

crc errors usually indicate (not always) duplex mismatch, bad wiring. in
errors... typically none. output errors.. usually some number which is
normal, and not an issue (%?). drops and defers... may indicate a
problem... not enough cpu cycles or memory. on a 2500.... you should see
more defers than drops. if you have a bad ratio of drops to packets, check
your memory and cpu utilization. on a 2500, i recall that if you have 16
meg of dram, 25% gets allocated to i/o, or 4 meg. if you have 8 meg... 2
for i/o and so on.

do a sho int e0, and get out your calculator to see what your percentages
are....
